Browser Exercises

The course pages include an editor for running Python examples and completing programming exercises. You can use it in the early parts without installing Python on your own computer.

Local Programming Environment

Part 5 introduces working with files and programs that use several source files. Follow Working in a Programming Environment to install Python and an editor, open a project folder, and run a saved Python file. The instructions use VSCodium; if you already have a suitable editor, you can use it with the same files and terminal commands.

The same chapter explains how to download exercises and submit your work through the Aalto OpenCS IDE plugin or a ZIP upload.
