Registration and Grading


Registration

Registration to the course platform is done by clicking the REGISTER link on the upper right-hand corner of the page and filling in your details. If you use a narrow screen, open the menu first and then choose the registration link.

If you have previously worked on courses offered on the platform, you can use the same account here. When you work while logged in, your progress is stored on the course platform.

If you are an Aalto student, or an exchange student at Aalto, you must register using your @aalto.fi email address and you must enroll to the course through SISU. Up-to-date information is available on MyCourses.

Note that this course is available for credit only until the end of July, 2026. After that, it will be available for self-study without credit until archived.

Grading

The course is graded using pass/fail. To pass the course, you must collect at least 90% of the available course points.

The course consists of six parts. The points are accumulated from all coursework in the chapters (even the quizzes in this course practicalities part).

Requesting grading

Before requesting grading, make sure that you have the required number of course points.

If a course that you are taking has deadlines, please be aware that the progress shown does not account for the deadlines (i.e., points after deadlines are shown above, even though they are be counted towards your final grade).

Both Aalto students and others will need the personal code shown below when requesting grading.

For Aalto students

The course uses a rolling grading schedule. Once you have completed the course, request grading through the MyCourses page of the currently running course version.

For everyone else

Applications are processed approximately once per month.

To apply for credits, you need to have a Finnish personal identity code and Finnish bank credentials. These are used for verifying your identity during the credit application process.

When filling the application, the application system will also ask for your personal code for course. The personal code for the course is available in a box above.

There are two forms that are used for applying for credits, depending on your student status.

Applications are processed approximately once per month. You will receive a message once your application has been processed. Following the guidelines in the message, please accept the study position in the course and confirm your identity. Once you have completed this step, credits for the course will be added to the Aalto University register. You can see all your completed courses with credits by authenticating to My Studyinfo (Oma Opintopolku).
