Registration and Grading

Registration

Registration to the course platform is done by clicking the REGISTER link on the upper right-hand corner of this page and filling in your details.

If you have previously worked on courses offered on this platform such as Device-Agnostic Design or FITech 101: Digi & Data course series (in Finnish), the same account can be used here. When you work as a registered and logged in user, your progress will be stored.

Note! If you are an Aalto student, register to the course platform using your @aalto.fi-email address. The account that you create during registration differs from your main aalto.fi account.

It is possible to read the materials and work on the majority of the assignments without registration. If you choose to continue without registration, your progress may disappear if you e.g. clear information stored in your browser, do not visit the materials for a while, or if we do changes to the course platform.

Grading for Aalto students

The remaining information on this page is only for non-Aalto students. If you are an Aalto student, or an exchange student at Aalto, view grading information on a currently running course version on Aalto MyCourses.

Grading schema

The grading follows the Finnish Higher education grading scale, where 5 stands for Excellent, 4 stands for Very good, 3 stands for Good, 2 stands for Satisfactory, 1 stands for Pass, and 0 stands for fail.

The course grade is formed as follows:

  • Grade 5/5: Received at least 95% of the course points.
  • Grade 4/5: Received at least 90% of the course points.
  • Grade 3/5: Received at least 85% of the course points.
  • Grade 2/5: Received at least 80% of the course points.
  • Grade 1/5: Received at least 75% of the course points.

To receive a grade, you must request grading. Once you request grading, your submitted coursework receives a final evaluation by the course staff. This evaluation includes checking coursework for plagiarism, reliance on generative AI tools, etc.

Course points may be deducted during the final evaluation if the course staff finds that some of the coursework does not meet the requirements.
